PILSEN

If you've never been to the Pilsen neighborhood, you need to get on it! I went on a friend date to the area this past weekend and enjoyed every bit of my time there.

Probably the most famous place to grab a bite in Pilsen is Neuvo Leon on 18th Street. The brightly painted restaurant boasts some of the best authentic Mexican food in Chicago - and at great prices, too.

We ordered 2 Cokes, 2 glasses of horchata (a MUST get), carne asada tacos, and queso con chirizo for our meal. Everything comes with chips and salsa, and soup as well. It was more than enough food!

Our bill for 2 came to $19.95, plus a $6 tip = $25.95 total. And it's worth noting - the restaurant is BYOB, too!

After lunch, we toured the neighborhood. We popped into at least 4 vintage shops, and admired the street art on every corner.

  1. You and Andrew are so cute! Hopefully you'll be around at Christmas (I'm crashing it) so I can meet you properly. You were understandably busy at the wedding ;)
